If I'm known for anything as a performer, it's my "percussive expression" and my ability to play "modern" music on traditional hand drums. People often ask if I teach my stage technique, which includes fitting in with mandolins, guitars, drum sets, keyboards, fiddles, electric guitars... well, you get the idea.
Playing this way requires a wide range of techniques, and an understanding of how music moves us. In this workshop, we'll spend 6-weeks broadening your understanding of how to play percussion expressively, and specifically how to creatively play hand drums in non-drum ensemble settings.
Anyone who has learned basic technique is invited.
