Local Librarian, Kathy Duffy Presents “How to Research Using Your Library” for Central Oregon Writers Guild
Ever wondered where to find out information about a Russian Relic, a long deceased politician, or just needed to know about a certain culture or era to make your story sound authentic? At the July meeting of the Central Oregon Writers Guild, Kathy Duffy, reference librarian with the Deschutes County library system will be the guest speaker. She has been a librarian for more than 25 years in Oregon, New Jersey, Georgia and London, England. The topics she plans to cover are: basic reference sources available at the library, highlight some selections from the circulating collection, and recommend some writing websites. Besides being a librarian, Duffy dabbles in writing and "in a former lifetime" had a children's play, some poetry, and an essay published. Central Oregon Writers Guild will meet July 24th, 6:30 PM, at the Redmond Library, 827 SW Deschutes Ave. For more information about Central Oregon Writers Guild call 388-0836 or e-mail wordcrafter1@msn.com.
